Easy weekend here. Shoot some Christmass light. Tree light, house lights whatever lights you want.

For those that want to expand a little on this.

Shoot a shot in Auto, one in Aperture Priority, one in Shutter Pri., and one in Manual mode.

If shooting outside Christmas lights, try to shoot before it gets completely dark out. This will allow you to see the subject with the lights on it and the sky some.

Tips can be found by doing a google search for Christmas Lights Photography.

Have fun!

Yeah, I know. I just didn't really have the time to put much thought into this weeks. So its easy and we were kinda already on the subject in other posts.

I can't shoot good Christmas lights with my camera. I have tried every setting I think. Everytime I try it lights the whole picture up or gets really blury.

:poorbaby: I have always had the same problem. Looking forward to trying it with my Nikon. I already had someone ask me to take pics of their lights for them. So this could work out perfect

That is because you camera is keeping the shutter open a long time do to there being so little light that it sees. Take a picture of some christmas lights while the sun is just goign down or tight after. and use a tripod or set the camera on something and use the timer.

I will try that and see if it works.

Much nicer J, the little bit of natural light really make the image. :yay:

I might have cloned the utility pole out of the second one though.

I agree about MrX shots. Both look like Christmas card material! #2 is my favorite. Great job.

Cable Chic your shots turned out good, your not giving yourself enough credit. All shots have good angles and they give you the christmas feeling. Tripod would not have helped much with the moving boats since it's main purpose is for still subjects. I suppose you could use it for smoother panning but not sure if you would see any gain.

Here's one I shot a long time ago. It's not a good photo, but it is a little scary. Maybe it's the glowing nipples. :twitch:

CableChick, I agree with crf291, you don't give yourself enough credit. We are all critical of our own shots, but these are really wonderful, I especially like the last three shots. They are really nice shots!
