Leftist Ben & Jerry’s Targets Israel: We Won’t Sell Ice Cream In Judea And Samaria

Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, named for its two leftist founders and owned by Unilever since 2000, announced on Monday that they would no longer sell ice cream in the two ancient Biblical parts of Israel, Judea, and Samaria, writing that it was “inconsistent with our values for Ben & Jerry’s ice cream to be sold in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.”

Their statement read:
FUK BEN AND JERRY GOD DAM FAG ICE CREAM

London Art Gallery Adds ‘Woke’ Warning To Painting Over ‘Male Gaze’

The Courtauld Gallery in London has sparked a controversy over a new “woke” label over the “male gaze” of a man toward a woman in a popular Manet painting.

The gallery hosts many of the U.K.’s top Impressionist paintings, including Édouard Manet’s 1882 work “A Bar at the Folies-Bergère” which received the recent warning.

The painting was called out over a barmaid being stared at by a male customer in the mirrored image. The updated information panel alongside the piece of artwork now notes the female’s “enigmatic expression is unsettling, especially as she appears to be interacting with a male customer.”

In an interview with The Telegraph, Art historian Ruth Millington called the labeling a “woke attempt to call out misogyny.” She added the new interpretation shifts the attention to the man’s gaze rather than the traditional understanding that has focused on the woman in Manet’s work.

The Welcome Pushback Against Politicized Investment Managers

The problem is that there’s been an equally seismic power shift to those passive funds’ investment managers. They’re trying to remake corporate America to suit their personal politics.

In truth, it’s the Big Three investment managers who now own the market. BlackRock, Vanguard and State Street control more than $20 trillion in assets. In 90% of public companies, one of the Big Three is the largest shareholder. More money means more votes: At S&P 500 companies, the Big Three cast about 20% to 25% of all shareholder votes. And that vote bloc will only grow as more Americans move their savings into passive funds.
That concentration of voting power in three like-minded investment companies, given the diversity of all other voting interests, means the Big Three can often direct the outcome of board elections and shareholder proposals.

It is no surprise C-suites increasingly take their cues from the three loudest voices in the room. But rather than promote long-term shareholder value, Big Three leaders such as BlackRock’s CEO Larry Fink push political agendas instead.

Despite Mr. Fink’s liberal politics, his pressure campaign has drawn cross-partisan criticism. Conservative critics decry the Big Three’s effort to decide hotly contested questions of environmental and social policy outside the political arena. Reasonable voices on the left have also criticized the Big Three for deferring too much to management on core governance issues, such as executive compensation. The deal seems to be that if management gives the Big Three what they want on E and S, they let management do what it wants on G.

Woke Kellogg’s Is Breaking Up After Years of Disappointing Performance

“Kellogg has been on a successful journey of transformation to enhance performance and increase long-term shareholder value,” said Steve Cahilane, the company’s chief executive and board chairman.

Breitbart News reported in 2017:

Every time an American family picks up a box of Kellogg’s cereal at the grocery store, it is contributing to the wealthy radical leftwing foundation that agitates for open borders, supports George Soros’s Open Society Insitute, and pushes a host of leftwing causes.
The W.K. Kellogg Foundation is the largest shareholder of the Kellogg Company. According to its 2016 tax filing, the Kellogg Foundation’s trust owns approximately $5.2 billion of stock in the company, about 20 percent of the company’s equity. The other large holders are mostly passive investors such as mutual funds and their ownership is a fraction of the foundation’s. That means that the foundation effectively controls the famous cereal company.

Back in 2016, the Kellogg Company called for a blacklist of Breitbart, saying that the news organization did not reflect its values. This prompted a #dumpkellogg’s boycott in response that AdWeek described as inflicting huge damage to the company’s reputation.

“White People, You Are the Problem”

I have obtained a cache of internal documents about the company’s initiative, called Listen Understand Act, which is based on the core principles of critical race theory, including “intersectionality,” “systemic racism,” “white privilege,” and “white fragility.” CEO John Stankey launched the program last year and, subsequently, has told employees that private corporations such as AT&T have an “obligation to engage on this issue of racial injustice” and push for “systemic reforms in police departments across the country.”

According to a senior employee, who agreed to speak on condition of anonymity, managers at AT&T are now assessed annually on diversity issues, with mandatory participation in programs such as discussion groups, book clubs, mentorship programs, and race reeducation exercises. White employees, the source said, are tacitly expected to confess their complicity in “white privilege” and “systemic racism,” or they will be penalized in their performance reviews. As part of the overall initiative, employees are asked to sign a loyalty pledge to “keep pushing for change,” with suggested “intentions” such as “reading more about systemic racism” and “challenging others’ language that is hateful.” “If you don’t do it,” the senior employee says, “you’re [considered] a racist.” AT&T did not respond when asked for comment.

On the first page of AT&T’s Listen Understand Act internal portal, the company encourages employees to study a resource called “White America, if you want to know who’s responsible for racism, look in the mirror.” The article claims that the United States is a “racist society” and lays out its thesis plainly: “White people, you are the problem. Regardless of how much you say you detest racism, you are the sole reason it has flourished for centuries.” The author, Dahleen Glanton, writes that “American racism is a uniquely white trait” and that “Black people cannot be racist.” White women, she claims, “have been telling lies on black men since they were first brought to America in chains,” and, along with their white male counterparts, “enjoy the opportunities and privileges that white supremacy affords [them].”
They should fire ALL white people and only hire #1 males and females to fill those positions. From CEO to janitor, and everything in between.

I'll be over here, taking bets as to how long those corporations last before they go belly up.

New York Supermarket Chains Drop Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream After 'Shameful' Move to Boycott Israel

Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, the founders of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, were woke before it was cool to be woke. Even after the pair of aging hippies sold the brand to food giant Unilever, their social justice influence continued, thanks to an acquisition agreement with Unilever in which the company agreed to carry on the founders’ tradition of engaging “in critical, global economic and social missions.”

So it’s not surprising that Unilever released a statement on Monday saying it would no longer sell Ben & Jerry’s products in the “occupied territories” — the West Bank and Gaza Strip — once its licensing agreement in Israel expires in 2022.

“Although Ben & Jerry’s will no longer be sold in the OPT, we will stay in Israel through a different arrangement. We will share an update on this as soon as we’re ready,” Unilever’s statement explained.

This blatant cave-in to pressure by the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement did not sit well with some New York supermarket chains.
Their ice cream sucks so why would any one in Israel give rats arse

Nervous media warns the wokesters

When Bridges was then pressed by Senator Josh Hawley to clarify whether she meant women, she retreated to one of the woke’s favorite lines of defense by declaring that Hawley’s line of questioning was “transphobic” and “it opens up trans people to violence.”

On Twitter, the progressive left promptly called it a win for Bridges. Yet then something unexpected happened. Several more moderate journalists sounded the warning that the hearing did not go the way their woke colleagues thought it did.

Megan McArdle at the Washington Post was the first to sound the alarm, writing, “Unlike a Rorschach test, however, this one has a right answer, and the progressives have it wrong. Moreover, the fact that they can’t see just how badly this exchange went for their side shows what a big mistake it was to let academia and media institutions turn into left-wing monocultures.” This went over on Twitter about as well as expected.

CNN host and analyst Fareed Zakaria then warned at the Washington Post that the Democratic Party was heading for ruin by obsessing over things like pronouns. Zakaria said that instead, “Democrats need to become the party of building things.” He’s right, but in the insular world of Twitter, it didn’t matter. The Post changed the headline of the piece, caving to an outraged hoard of wokesters, which in turn, kind of proved Zakaria’s point.

A few years ago, the AMA removed the statue of its founder Dr. Nathan Davis from its place of honor in its Chicago headquarters lobby and assigned it to the basement. Dr. Davis was a Northerner and not a racist. He treated patients of all ethnic groups and skin colors equally. However, he is judged by “presentism” norms today.

“Presentism” as defined by Oxford Dictionary is the “uncritical adherence to present-day attitudes, especially the tendency to interpret past events in terms of modern values and concepts.” How does this apply to the question at hand? Dr. Davis has now been judged guilty of supporting a compromise back in 1868 to save the AMA organization from splintering into Northern and Southern groups on race by requiring state membership to be a member of the national AMA.

[clip]

Then my plastic surgery alma mater, the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, removed all 31 of its gold framed portraits of its surgical chiefs from the surgical amphitheater where Surgical Rounds and Morbidity and Mortality Conferences were held.

They were portraits of men such as Dr. Harvey Cushing who founded neurosurgery, Dr. Dwight Harkin who inserted the first heart valve and developed the concept of the ICU, Dr. Francis Moore whose “Metabolic Care of the Surgical Patient” saved patients from surgical shock, and my own chief, Nobel Laureate Dr. Joe Murray, who performed the first successful kidney transplants.

Were they racists? Absolutely not!

But some Harvard medical students complained they were “uncomfortable” because the portraits were of only White Men!

And just like that, Voila! Dr. Elizabeth Nabel, the past president of Brigham Health, summarily removed all the portraits to more private spots. They were segregated so as not to upset the new women and men of science. At least it was just portraits and statues that were cancelled. Then.

Dr. Jeffrey Flier, former dean of Harvard medical school, said removing the portraits did nothing to promote diversity and wrote an op-ed condemning the cancellation of these medical giants.

‘Anti-woke’ investor tells Apple, Disney to keep politics out of business

An outspoken critic of so-called “woke capitalism” is publicly urging corporate giants Apple and Disney to keep politics out of their businesses.

Vivek Ramaswamy, the founder of investment firm Strive Asset Management, demanded that Apple and Disney prioritize profits while avoiding political discourse that could tarnish their brands.

Strive has acquired stakes in each company since launching earlier this year with a mandate to challenge the corporate emphasis on environmental, social and governance standards, otherwise known as “ESG.”

Ramaswamy, who authored a best-selling book titled “Woke, Inc.” argued that Disney’s decision to wade into political debates, such as the kerfuffle over Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” law, risked financial harm to shareholders with little to no benefit to the company’s bottom line.

Makeup Retailer Faces Backlash for Inviting Trans Influencer on Podcast

Makeup giant Ulta faces intense backlash after inviting a biological male “transgender” influencer to discuss "all things girlhood" on the company's podcast last week.

Ulta, which has about 1,300 stores across the U.S., invited the influencer, Dylan Mulvaney, to speak with “gender-fluid” hairdresser David Lopez on "The Beauty Of..." podcast, according to Daily Mail.

“I want to be a mom one day,” Mulvaney said in part of the episode, which is included in a promotional tweet from Ulta.

Dylan's TikToks documenting her 'days of girlhood' have accumulated millions of views.

In the videos, she is often seen doing and acting in excessively 'feminine' ways which are often perceived as representing harmful, sexist stereotypes.

While 'being a girl,' Dylan often attributes her womanhood to what she is wearing, her makeup, eating habits and dramatic emotions which lead to crying and binge shopping.

🔥 Oh dear. Women’s cosmetic maker Ulta stepped in the woke cowpie yesterday when it posted a “podcast” between two unattractive cross-dressers, labeled it “the Joy of Girlhood,” and assured their customers “trans girls can do it all!” With obnoxious claps.

Ulta’s podcast went over like a porcupine at a balloon-stuffed baby shower.

As an aside, between the two men, I think my favorite is the guy with all the facial hair; he’s not JUST trans, he’s identifying as a classic circus sideshow bearded lady, which really takes guts. But you still have to give some props to the skinny one, Dylan Mulvaney, 25. His story is that, since he was “overwhelmed” by the terrifying prospect of coming out as a woman, he decided to start by identifying as a teen “girl,” so that he can experience the joys of girlhood before becoming a lady. Hence the interview.

The gals were having none of it. Calls for a boycott immediately ratio’d the edgy Ulta post. FN The general feeling amongst the ladies seems to be that the two men are appropriating femininity through bad costumery:

FN A tweet is “ratio’d” when it gets a lot more comments than likes, showing that the twitter audience really hated the tweet.

This next one, from a self-described feminist, albeit very crass, highlights the level of anger among Ulta’s customers, who are, after all, women who appreciate cosmetics and obviously value femininity.

Get woke, go broke.

But I appreciated conservative commenter Alexandra Lains’ thoughtful comment the most. Among other pointed remarks, Alexandra observed that “girlhood is not a product that you can purchase at the makeup store.”

Indeed. When it went after girlhood, Ulta, which probably thought it would be praised and celebrated for its delightful woke sensitivity, got the sharp end of womanhood instead, right in the eyeball. It feels like Ulta crossed a line somehow, and a lot of regular women finally had enough and are spicily speaking their minds.

Speak up, ladies! Tell us how you REALLY feel.
