St. Mary's Co. Woman Convicted in Fatal Drunk Driving Crash While Transporting Minors

LEONARDTOWN, MD (March 11, 2025) – State’s Attorney Jaymi Sterling announced today that Ashley Nicole Nolan, 28, of Lexington Park, Maryland, has been convicted of felony negligent manslaughter for a fatal drunk driving collision that claimed the life of one minor child and seriously injured two others. Nolan faces a maximum sentence of 22 years in prison.
  • Grossly negligent manslaughter by motor vehicle (10-year maximum penalty);
  • Life threatening injury while driving under the influence (three-year maximum penalty);
  • Life threatening injury while driving under the influence (three-year maximum penalty);
  • Driving under the influence of alcohol, per se, while transporting a minor (two-year maximum penalty);
  • Driving under the influence of alcohol, per se, while transporting a minor (two-year maximum penalty); and
  • Driving under the influence of alcohol, per se, while transporting a minor (two-year maximum penalty).
Nolan will continue to be held without bond pending a sentencing hearing.

Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Michael McGraw prosecuted the case on behalf of the citizens of St. Mary’s County.

Corporal Dale Reppel of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office was the lead investigator. The Collision Reconstruction Unit of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the investigation.

The Honorable Joseph Stanalonis presided over the case.
