A Spring Lake Park woman will not face felony charges for throwing three one-week old puppies at her boyfriend, according to Fridley police.
Gabrielle Tywon Allen, 20, was arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty at about 3:45 a.m. Thursday, March 29 after allegedly throwing the young pit bulls at her boyfriend during a fight. Her boyfriend, 25-year-old David Peter Remme, had reportedly punched Allen moments before, breaking her nose.
The puppies landed on concrete but sustained no significant injuries, according to Lt. Mike Monsrud of the Fridley police. Injuries are necessary to warrant a felony-level animal cruelty charge, Monsrud explained.
