Woman Lied About Rape To Avoid Trouble For Staying Out Late

A Rockland County woman who told police she was abducted and raped was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly making the story up.

Francia Lopez, 23, was charged with falsely reporting an incident.

The Pomona woman told police she was abducted by three men in a jeep, then drugged and raped on Friday while she was walking home.

Lopez admitted she made the story up so she wouldn't be in trouble for staying out late, police said.

She faces up to a year in jail.
