A shooting on New York City's Upper East Side on Wednesday night has left a 20-year-old woman dead.

The shooting happened on East 95th St and Lexington Ave in Manhattan when the woman was pushing a 3-month-old baby in a stroller around 8:30 p.m. ET.

The victim was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead an hour later, NYPD Commissioner Keechant L. Sewell said in a 10:30 p.m. press conference.

The woman was shot by an "unknown" suspect "at a very close range," Sewell said.

As long as the mayhem is confined to the other side of the tracks, the powers to be and the politicians don't really care. But when 1 of the donor class members ends up in a pine box, heads will roll. Because that's just bad for business.

Politics in America, especially on the national level, is a business. I don't think it was intended to be that way originally. But along the way a few figured out a way to enrich themselves, their families and their friends. Sure a few of the 1s that aren't as discrete end up behind bars.
