Police Shoot Suspect After Chase

Alexandria, Va. (AP) - A carjacking suspect is in jail after a wild chase and a shooting involving Alexandria (website - news) police.
Officers arrested 25-year-old Chris Coward of Alexandria after he allegedly tried to run over two officers with his car, rammed two other vehicles and ran away.
Investigators say officers stopped Coward's black Mercedes at about 7:15 Thursday evening at the intersection of South Washington and Wolfe streets. Police believe the vehicle was involved in an armed carjacking in Prince George's County.
Police say the officers jumped out of the way when Coward tried to run them over, and one fired at the Coward.
But the Mercedes kept going and hit two other vehicles before police say Coward got out and ran away. He was found hiding in a trash bin, suffering from a gunshot to one shoulder.
No officers were hurt, but one person in one of the cars that was hit suffered minor injuries.
Coward is being treated at a hospital. He's been charged with assault.

I'm suprised nobody picked up on that typo error. If the suspect's last name is Coward, it should have read "one fired at Coward."
