I can't get the wifes HP to save the outlook password. I checked the help page and started it in the safe mode to rule out add ins and I see that it could be a problem with the registry or something to that effect.
I wiped out office and reinstalled it from another copy but I'm still having the same problem. Any reccomendations as to where to take it? I'm not going to geek squad...

Not sure, but I can't wait to see how many "get a Mac" replies you get.

Is this outlook express or outlook? Are you trying to set up an identity or is this the password you are trying to use to actually log into email?

I think Outlook was designed for folks accessing a mail server located within an active directory. Sounds like you want to access a POP mail server. Short of a better answer I would use Outlook Express.

Here is an article that may help clarify this.

Differences between Outlook and Outlook Express

Outlook Express

Outlook Express is the e-mail client that is included with Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.x, Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x, the Microsoft Windows 98 operating system, the Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition (Me) operating system, the Microsoft Windows 2000 operating systems, and Microsoft Office 98 for the Macintosh. Outlook Express is designed for home users who gain access to their e-mail messages by dialing in to an Internet service provider (ISP).

Outlook

Outlook is Microsoft's premier messaging and collaboration client. It is a stand-alone application that is integrated into Microsoft Office and Exchange Server. Outlook also provides performance and integration with Internet Explorer 5.5. Complete integration of e-mail, calendaring, and contact management, makes Outlook the perfect client for many business users.
