daymn!! again? I'm starting to wonder if this isn't a created shortage to drive up the price due to sudden supply and demand problem?? This is just ridiculous and unacceptable. Didn't any of the supplier have foresight to think they'd need more in the winter or something? Is the hold up in the production of the pellets? Have the cost gone up drastically in these hard to find pellets? Is it above the cost of fuel oil at this point? That's just ridiculous. I'm soo sorry you and others have to be dealing with this - especially because it concerns something so vital this time of year - heating the house. Hang in there :huggy: I'll let you know if I hear of something but lots of my friend (outside of the forums) are going through the same thing right now too and are in the same boat as you. :frown:

Your pellet stove must be designed for dried corn. I 've burned corn but it sure stinks kind of like burned popcorn. Why doesn't it pop not enough moisture in the kernel.

Rocky Mountain High!!
demand went up in accordance with the 117% rise in sales on the east coast, which was in response to the high cost of fuel. they mfg has opened a new mill just last week, so hopefully they will catch up soon

Was able to buy a ton at Bryans Road Building Supply last Friday. They are located at Route 210 and Route 227 in Bryans Road. Price was about $255, over $5 per bag. Most I had paid in previous years was about $4.20/bag, but at least I have enough now to get through most of the winter.

I've asked my family to buy me a few bags of pellets for Christmas, that's how dire the situation is. I'm not overly concerned if we get pellets we get pellets, if we don't, we have a nice shiny new pellet stove we can look at until next winter. It'll at least block the draft in the basement fireplace.

It'll get better when winter is almost over. AND THE GREAT PELLET HUNT CONTINUES.

The problem is just in this area. I was back in Baltimore this past weekend and pellets are not a problem to buy. The Andersons True Value in Harford Co had plenty as did the Ace Hardware in Northeast Md. Call COURTLAND HEARTH AND HARDWARE in BelAir Md...THEY HAVE PLENTY!

My husband got 20 bags from Walmart (California) last week. Walmart told my husband that they get pellets everyday you just have to be there in the morning to get them. They are gone as soon as they are put out. Something worth looking into.
