Working house fire Gregg dr lusby

Must've been a good one. Went to fill in at Co. 3 for about 3 hours. Leonardtown sent an engine to Solomons and the Valley sent one to 9.

The house is a total loss. It's a rental that the neighborhood slumlord owns. On a positive note, there wasn't anybody living there at the time, so no injuries or deaths.

Is that the same slum lord that spent some time in jail for defrauding some airline companies? Is it the house on the right as you go down Gregg Dr that sits back behind some trees? I think it is the 4th on the right?

Not to sound rude, but it sounds like a win/win situation. Nobody was hurt but this couldn't have happened to a better person! I wonder if it was intentional?

Hopefully that includes pets. I hate to think of a dog or cat being in there either.

What? I used to be an insurance fraud investigator. Many people set fire to their own homes when they couldn't sell them or rent them out.

I had a friend whose house burned down. Turns out her mom set the fire in the attic, and tried to make it look electrical... she was even a volunteer at the FD.

She was way behind on her mortgage.

Wow, thank God nobody was hurt. Unfortunately, people do many stupid things when they're financially desperate. Fires (home or auto) are always carefully investigated by insurance companies because there's so much fraud out there. One of the first things looked at is if the owner is current on their loan.
