I was over at WAWA earlier yapping with some friends for a few minutes and overheard a man say it was fully engulfed, but another friend of mine posted some pictures he took on his FB and it didn't look like it.

I just hope nobody was inside and got hurt.

I was going south bound and the guy was outside on the phone. It wasn't fully engulfed. Lot's of smoke. Probably using a portable heater.

The house wasn't fully involved. The BIR was smoke coming from the front door. The smoke had a lot of people calling though.

Yep. She rekindled about 2150 last night. Took ten or fifteen minutes and it was re-extinguished. Hasn't lit back up yet.

On Wednesday March, 4 at approximately 5:16 p.m., firefighters from Mechanicsville, Hollywood, Hughesville and Benedict Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the residence in Mechanicsville for a working house fire.

In all, 36 firefighters took approximately 15 minutes to knock down the primary fire located on the first floor of the two-story single family home. After an inspection by the State Fire Marshall, it was determined the fire was accidental and caused by an unattended kerosene heater.

No one was injured because of the blaze. It is estimated that the fire caused $25,000 worth of damage.

I drove by there Thurs. evening and couldn't figure out what all the commotion was about. No fire or smoke and no damage from what I could see but a pumper filling his tank from the pond and what looked like every piece of equipment in the county! Glad they got it contained.
