"Oliver Stone, the Academy Award-winning director of Born On The Fourth Of Jiuly, JFK, and Platoon, brings to cinematic life the true story of Will Jimeno and John McLoughlin, two Port Authority police officers who rushed into the burning World Trade Center on 9/11 to help rescue people, but became trapped themselves when the tower collapsed. A race-against-time ensued to free them before their air ran out. Starring Nicolas Cage (The Weather Man), Michael Peña (Crash), Maria Bello (A History Of Violence), Maggie Gyllenhaal (Mona Lisa Smile), Jay Hernandez (Hostel), and Stephen Dorff (Blade)."

Wow, this seems INCREDIBLE! In fact, it could be one of the best films of the year, if not the best. Nicolas Cage is my favorite actor and he seems brilliant in this film, which, in turn, seems to be a very inspiring, powerful, and thrilling tribute to 9/11 heroics. Ths opens on Wednesday, August 9th. I can't wait to see it!

I just saw the Da Vinci Code last night. I got to see the Trailer for World Trade Center. OMG..It looks so good. I had tears in my eyes, Nicolas Cage lost alot of weight and he looks like a true New York Cop!

I felt like such an azz, sitting in there crying at a trailer!

I hope the producers of WTC and the United Flight 93 movie are planning on donating substantial portions of profits to the fire fighters, policemen, and the children of the 9/11 families...

You know these movies are going to rake in obscene amounts of cash. I just feel it's too soon to start profiting off entertainment blockbusters about 9/11.

That said... it does look like a good movie.

Yeah, I hope they do. On the news the other night they were talking about people that were there without masks, are now getting cancer and all kinds of stuff!

"The two officers whose stories the film revolves around were paid $200,000 each for the rights to re-create their dramatic rescue, and they have helped promote the film and to quiet fears that it would be a political work."

I know Universal Pictures donated a portion of the United 93 grosses to a 9/11 memorial fund, though it's grosses could hardly be called "obscene." It, in fact, did disappointing box office numbers, perhaps because the subject had already been covered in two TV movies and/or the fact that it featured no major A-list stars.
