Worth mentioning, part II...

...1 week with only one or two newpapers I even scanned the front page of, one visit to Drudge and zero posts (maybe 1?).

The world seems to have, somehow, kept right on without me.

It was great!

Yesterday was suppose to be the start of my 2 week vacation. Guess what!! I wasn't gone 2 days and they called me in to work overtime. I sometimes wonder of this place can get allong without me. It is nice though to be needed.

...if you stay in town and are thus available to come in?

The idea is to "leave town" even if you don't go anywhere.

My husband just got us a new phone system. It has a feature that allows us to put a different ring tone on caller ID numbers. That way when the boss calls we can tell it's them and ignor the call until we decide to "get back into town".

Vacations are necessary even if it's just a vacation from the mundane. Most people only get one vacation a year. You might as well use it.

I've even worked for companies that had a mandatory vacation policy. That was great.

The trouble is that my flight out doesn't leave until Tuesday. After that, they'll be hard pressed to get hold of me even though I will have my cell phone with me.
