Would it be horrible

to try and have someone adopt my dog that has skin problems? She has lost the fur on her lower back and stomach. Her skin is flaking off all over the place. She is so sweet and only a little over 2 years old. I feel horrible, but we just can't afford to take her to the Vet. When it comes down to choosing to may family medical bills of Vet bills, we have to pay medical bills. We've given her fish oil and benydryl, but that's all we can do. What do you guys think?

I don't think it would be horrible if you could find someone who has the time and/or money to work with her and figure out what her issues are.

Maybe someone here could help you though? Can you give us more information like what breed, age, what food does she eat, etc? Many times skin allergies are caused by food. If a simple food change could solve the problem, would you be interested in doing that?

She's a Beagle mix. I think a Beagle/Lab mix. She was born November 2009. I have another dog so I just buy the big bag of dry food from WalMart. Last year we went through the same thing with her skin and fur and then it grew back. Then it happened again. She's skiddish about going outside. Probably because it's cold on her skin. Again, I feel horrible, but my husband and I work full time, and there's no one home with her during the day. We have kids we have to look after and she's just not getting the attention she deserves.
