Her lawyer is saying if it was LeBron the US would have gotten him out by now. So does that mean every Joe Schmo that breaks a law in another country should expect to have the US government jump through hoops to get them back home? Or just basketball players? Ridiculous.

I had a dream last night. Brittney Griner was offered a plea bargain. She would live a life of luxury in Russia if she would stay to play for them in the 2024 Olympics. She took the offer. The USA won and she was forced to listen to our National Anthem endlessly. Hey, my dream, my rules.

They'd be more afraid of LeBron .

Wouldn't surprise me if more time has been spent trying to work a deal to get her out of Russia than they have spent trying to get the folks they left behind in Afghanistan out. Obviously the media has.
Just imagine how racist they would have made Trump look for not bringing their girl home.

If these people believe so strongly that breaking the laws of a sovereign nation is OK and should not be punished then why don't they hop on a plane and boycott the Russian government in Moscow? You know why? Because that same fear of knowing exactly what would happen to them is the same reasoning for why she is rightfully being detained.

This whole Griner thing really has me miffed! She violated the law. Their law or our law.... carrying vapes on a plane in a foreign country is obviously going to cause an international incident!

She had to know the vapes were going to cause trouble going through security. I mean they would stop me here in the US for a little bottle of hot sauce.... she's carrying pot vapes.... and who cares if they are CBD from hemp or THC from pot.... she knew she should not be trying to get through security with them in her bag.

She caused an international incident.... she should be jailed when she gets back here.

She caused the US to release some slimeball for her. I am truly angry with her.

IMHO Phoenix doesn't need any more morons.... after all we have Andy Biggs.

She's a moron!

What gets me is, this isn't "being gay in a Muslim country" kind of law-breaking. This isn't "sneaking liquids on a plane" kind of infraction - this kind of thing is pretty damned illegal most places in the world.

Like I said, Midnight Express - she's lucky it ain't a Turkish prison. She'd be there for life.

No. She is lucky that she is black, a woman, and is good at basketball. If this was a white man from New Hampshire we wouldn't even see him for ten years... maybe
My understanding is she's lucky she is FAMOUS. If she was black and unknown, we'd never see her again.
