I figured he would have alienated himself from the American people, but results matter.

WASHINGTON – A Gallup poll has encouraging news for President Donald Trump as his battle for reelection heats up: Six in 10 Americans say they are better off than they were three years ago when he took office, and about the same number credit him for the improvement.
No other incumbent president in the past three decades has enjoyed such a high percentage of people saying they feel better about their situation. In 2012, when President Barack Obama was in the White House, 45% of Americans told Gallup they were better off than they were three years ago. In 2004, 1996 and 1992, the number was 50%.

Feeling better with Trump does not necessarily mean you ' like ' Trump or what he has done handling certain things

In that very tiny bubble they all occupy, they do. Only the bubble people count to them.

Huh...so spitbubble...you truly are a cult member.

Seems it is only the cultists who have to equate every little thing to politics.

The economy has been expanding for 11 years.....the last threat to economic growth was in late 2015 when the oil patch collapsed. The only people who got hurt by that were the few who worked in the oil drilling and oil services. Everyone else was ecstatic.

Yeah...people are happier over the kitchen table...doesn't mean they approve of a guy who constantly berates and belittles everyone who doesn't bow before him.

It is not a hard concept to understand...if you are not a cult member.

Actually what REALLY gets me is the double-think that has never ceased - that yeah well he's taking credit for OBAMA'S economy -
and all of the Dem candidates saying at the same time that the economy is NOT so good and not helping everyone.

So - did Obama do it? Or Trump? Or - did it just go BAD for some Americans once Trump became President but was doing swimmingly well for everyone right up until that moment?

Does the economy suck? Or is it great? It REALLY can't be both.

The new mantra is that the stock market doesn't count because not everyone owns stock. :lmao:

Which is doubly stupid - because only an utter moron thinks the only measure anyone is using about the economy is the Dow.
Just take a stroll at the BEA.

Really? The only stat is the stock market? So - does that mean when it's BAD, it's not hurting people who DON'T have stocks?

I see polls saying that every Democrat candidate is polling ahead of Trump.
I see thousands upon thousands going to Trump rallies.
The last one in New Hampshire said 25% of those there were Democrats.
I speak to friends who i know are Democrats and most of them are likeing Trump.
A couple of them will vote for the Democrat, but they don't like any of the Democrats now running.

I find myself saying this often lately:

They're not talking to you and me.

They are talking to TransStupidus et al. THAT is their audience for the dissemination of talking points that will be parroted without question. aka the "utter morons".

I see polls saying that every Democrat candidate is polling ahead of Trump.
And I see methodologies that are - well - dumb.
Like polling all adults - instead of registered voters or better, LIKELY voters - people who have voted in the last few elections.

Or tilting the field towards Democrats, based on old data for registrations. Democrats have almost always had a lead over Republicans in total registrations, but it's not the same as it was the last few cycles. The normal stat used is 44% Dem, 38% GOP. Some pollsters significantly drop the sample portion that is GOP while maintaining the Dem sample size, thus skewing the results.

BASICALLY, whether or not someone claims to be Independent, the fact is that a majority of those independent voters are still voting Republican, based on election outcomes. The difference is very closely even. Using the idea that indies break evenly is just not borne out by history.

We now actually have a situation where people, having been harassed and insulted by mentioning they support Trump have decided not to be up front about their support to pollsters. I wouldn't either. I usually say to people I will tell you who I voted for after the results are final. It's no one's business, it's why we have a secret ballot and I have no problem whatsoever lying to a nosy pollster.

You know what's going to be funny, should Bloomberg actually gain traction in this campaign? You know, the one where he hasn't appeared in any debate forums but showed up after the tryouts to buy his way in? They guy who is one of the top ten richest men in America?

The socialist, anti-capitalist, anti-rich billionaire club (while taking their money) will welcome it. Because the ideology is baloney - they just want to take down Trump. The guy whom they believe bought his way in and knows nothing about being President but just knows Wall Street and business - they are totally cool with him possibly being taken down by ANOTHER Trump, because he's a Democrat.

At least Trump showed up at the audition. He was at the debates. He was there for all of it. Bloomberg waltzes in at the last minute - and they're ready to make him team captain after missing every practice? Because he has money?

I HAVE to hope my Dem friends are smarter than that. I just have to.

Well, they're not. If they were smart and aware and truly thinking, they wouldn't be Democrats in this day and age. No smart person can possibly support the modern party of Nancy Pelosi, especially after that impeachment fiasco. No smart person watches MSNBC. They may have them some book learnin', but they aren't smart.

I do think that some of them are so fixated on eliminating Trump that they quickly latch on to whatever angle is presented when he is cast in a bad light. Like when he opposes this or that, and the rationale given is - he just wants to give to his rich friends or - I don't know, just wants to pollute, raise the world's oceans, end the planet - I mean, who thinks like that honestly, outside of cartoons and bad movies?

I find that when I come across the leftie propaganda and dig just a tiny bit deeper - I realize - damn, if you'd just checked it out a little more, you'd realize there's a very good reason why he did this or that. You might not agree as to whether it will WORK, but it wasn't because he hates brown people or wants to screw poor people. When he opposes some clean water regulation, gosh, it couldn't be that the regulation is screwing every day farmers for making their own fish pond or clearing debris that is flooding their crops. Nope, it's because he hates people.

I just get exasperated. When it comes to politics, they actually believe in Snidely Whiplashes and Dick Dastardlys and Jokers and Riddlers and Lex Luthor - villains who do bad things just 'cause they're bad.

I don't see how anyone can look over the past impeachment fiasco and not realize - damn, they didn't even try to make it fair or just. Damn, they've been looking to pounce on anything this man does as grounds to remove him since before he took office, and they jumped the gun on Ukraine and totally believed a fairy tale on Russia. Even if you HATE the man, you have to see what they've done - because if they can do this to him, they can do it to YOU. The measure of justice - as to how just it is - is how it metes it out to people you don't like.
