WTH?!?!?! Healthy Mac-n-Cheese....

Really, now.

Who in the world would want to make, much less eat, HEALTHY macaroni and cheese?

I was looking at recipes to try out to change my own mac-n-cheese up a bit, but in looking at some of the on-line versions out there, I think I'll just stick with my own fat-laden version.

Fat-free cheese? Gluten-free pasta? Added vegetables?

My preference: full-o'-fat cheese, bacon, and then add in mo' cheese. :yum:

Jamie Oliver has a good macaroni and cauliflower cheese bake recipe, but you have to go into it realizing that it is not really macaroni and cheese. If I want macaroni and cheese, I use the BG recipe. :yum:

I'll send y'all flowers when you're in the hospital recovering from your angioplasties.
I"m not going to even bother wasting time with angioplasties. I'm gonna die on the spot...nice and simple, quick and easy. I hope, anyways.

Hopefully my last bite of delicious food before I depart this here Earth will be a juicy marbled steak wrapped in bacon, a side of REAL mac-n-cheese, some fried potatoes, and an almond-joy cheesecake for dessert.

Oh, I think I know what I'm having for dinner tomorrow night. :yay:

Wait a minute. When did you start adding bacon? I've been using your recipe for years and you don't tell me these things?! :banghead:

I don't ordinarily add in bacon, but if the mood strikes me, I'll toss some in.

What's cool with any recipe, Vince, is that you can add to it, or take stuff away, and - usually - it'll still be delicious AND your own version that you can say you created all by yourself.

My sister sometimes made hers with whole wheat pasta and skim milk and lower fat cheese. It was ok, but not the same.

The son likes it just the way it is, but I think I'm going to try adding bacon next time. Everybody loves bacon.
