XBox 360 Wireless connection

I was under the impression that the XBox 360 had a wireless network adapter built into it. Am I mistaken? Do I have to add a network adapter or is there one already in it?

There is a slot for an ethernet cable on the back of the box.. If you want to go wireless you have to buy the adapter... (about $100.)

Thanks.

The reason I got a wireless router is because I thought the stupid thing had the wireless adapter built in.

You can pick up the Linksys gaming adapter (wireless ethernet bridge) for about $70. Configure it on your PC to connect to your network, then just plug it into power and the ethernet port on your XB360. works fine..its what i use with no issues.

The Xbox360 wireless adapter costs a little bit more, but it works flawlessly (for me) and is easy to configure. It is also compact and can attach to the back of the Xbox360, and plugs into the USB port.

So I got an X-Box and a Bose sound system to add to my collection. Finally got the TV and the Bose relocated and set into getting the XBox hooked up. Installed the network bridge, got it all configured, up and running. then came the XBox live profile set up. What a friggin frustrating mess.

Go online with the XBox and go through the set up. The Windows Live account for Boy was a PITA, then because he is under 18 (I know I should have just set up a regular account for him) I had to get a Windows live account so I could approve his account. Email address is already on file :blahblah: Email address is from a reserved domain :blahblah: ser name and password do not match :blahblah: One friggin problem after another. I created new damn email addresses for us both on Verizon and hotmail all no workie. Finally I got on the phone with XBox and after an hour and a half I got 1 profile to work.

So he logs on and it works but he is silver which is worthless to him because he wants to multi player game :blahblah: The guy said We were supposed to get a prompt to upgrade to gold for 1 month. Never got it so I said screw it and got him 1 month (His mom is paying for a year) and then he can't "Match up" says he does not have permission. Back on the phone and 2 XBox reps later I got cut off from I call again and get the first guy. He says in 3 years he has never gotten hooked back to a repeat caller. So he has us check a couple things and we log back in and presto it is on and he is online live.

I hope I never have to mess with that thing again what a PITA.
