Coming back from the sons place in the old Wildewood condos about 6-7pm last night. Near San Souci, I see a pickup truck with about 10-12 Bud Light cans tied to the bumper. With maybe that ribbon used for balloons. Now, really if this came loose the odds of it killing or even injuring me directly are pretty low. But a less experienced rider might catch it under the front tire and go down. The real danger is some person who see's it come loose and is afraid of it scratching up the family truckster. So they swerve right into whatever's next to them.

Just poor headwork, that's all. Think about this stuff.

I might qualify as a "less experienced rider." When faced with the choice of negotiating the 90-degree left turn in the road or going straight into the corn field, I elected for the corn field. The good news is that it was a corn field and not an oak tree.

Tying cans to a newly married couple's vehicles is so common it's cliche. Curious how many times one of the cans has come loose and killed a fellow motorist. I'm going to guess that it's rare.

Not so much outside movies, I dont think, and I dont think a lot of couples would leave them on once they leave the venue of the wedding. Injuring a motorist, agree, that's pretty low odds. Thats why I mentioned rider :) You swerve to miss the cans in your RAV4 and hit my Jeep Cherokee, we both walk away clean and you pay for some bodywork unless you track down the happy couple. You swerve and ram my bike while we are both doing 45, well, thats a bit different. Again, agree, the risk is low, but it's 100% avoidable by not traveling a major roadway in heavy traffic with sh$% dragging behind your vehicle. Drive around the block from where you got married, then cut them off.

Nah, once they stopped making those thick-ass bottles and roads got all paved and sh^%, that went out of favor.

Wouldn't be me because I get out from behind people who have things going on. Mattresses tied to the top of their car, snow on the roof, unsecured items in their truck bed, etc. Drive behind them and you're just asking for it.

Honestly, I think you are in way more danger of being killed by some texting person than newlyweds with cans tied to their bumper. But it's your bitch, so feel free. I bitch about things too. :huggy:

Agreed, rare risk, goombas on phone are far greater risk to than these bozos.

Hey!!! Italians aren't the only ones talking and driving at the same time.
yes, but we talk with our hands

which reminds me of an old observation when the law was first implemented.
I've seen several takes on this scenario, hands free phone conversation and conversation with another party in the vehicle.
But the driver became so animated they were using their hands. Not only hands moving, but they have to make eye contract with the person

Technically it's not illegal...
