I just had a baby and we were getting out baby clothes from a previous child. They were stored in those rubbermaid containers, but some of the have come out with yellow stains on them. I am trying that OXY clean and so far it has helped but not completly out. Does anyone else have any ideas on how to get it out. It is only on a few things, but wanted to get them cleaned. If you have ideas let me know thanks.......

not sure what to tell you other than be careful, babies have very sensative skin and some of the stain lifters/removers can be very harsh.

If you think it may be formula stains, forget it. Don't even waste your time. Whatever they put in that stuff will leave permanent stains.

Fabric tends to do that. Cotton is probably the worst. I read about Orvis in a discussion on vintage cotton and linen but I've never tried it.

Murphy's oil soap. I know it sounds crazy but it works! Just pour it on and rub in ...let it sit for a bit and wash.

It will take out that black mold that gets in wet clothes too.....amazing stuff.

Try it!

Or just be content knowing they are really really clean after all the above and letting the baby wear them anyway. Lord knows they are not in the clothes very long anyway.

Get Rid of Yellow Stains

Yellow stains on fabrics can be caused by many things.
Heat, storing the item improperly, baby formula spit up, age, deodorant,
perspiration, minerals that are found in hard water,
and even salt in laundry detergents can cause yellowing.
Hopefully, some of these tips might help you if yellowing
is a problem...

Soak the yellow item in warm water and a few (2-3) denture
cleaning tablets. Soak overnight...

Mix up a solution of white vinegar, salt, and a water softener
with a pint of water. Dunk the item up and down in the solution
several times. Rinse thoroughly and then launder...

Rub white toothpaste into the yellow spot. Wash in cold water...

Dampen the the yellow stained area. Apply powdered dishwashing
powder to the stain, Gently scrub the item, rinse and then launder...

Also, you might want to try the new clorox bleach pens -- they're great for spot treatments.

Arm & Hammer -- make a paste with it, rub it in the stain and let it set for awhile.

Hmm...and that's all I can think of for now.
