A friend of a friend of mine had to put up their 3 1/2 year old Yellow Lab into Waldorf humane shelter because landlord found out they have a dog. They can't move right now but needed to get the dog out of the house asap. Is the Waldorf Humane society a kill shelter? The dog's name is Sadie. Please pm me for the lady's name and number and she can go back to get the dog and give it to you so you won't have to pay the adoption fee's if you are interested. Thanks... going to put ad on classifieds for them now.

I forgot to ad that her name is Saddie and she has a good disposition, good with other animals, up to date on shots, she has been spayed, well taken care of and housebroken.

Why do people with unstable living arrangments get pets?

A dog at that too... she should have found out the requirements before getting any pets. Also, I wouldn't call renters unstable people Pete. If it was me in the situation, I'd move, ain't no way in hell I'd give up the family dog just like that.

The most stable living arrangement I've had was when I was renting a house for 6 years. Before that I lived in Alexandria, Chantilly (two separate places there), Dale City, Waldorf, Nanjemoy, Gaithersburg, Damascus, Silver Spring for a week, Bethesda, Alexandria, Pomfret, LaPlata and now I'm in Brandywine - I'd move every year when the apartment lease was up. I never wanted to buy a house before because I never knew where I wanted to live - all my family is in VA, my job is in DC and I love the simple life and water that Southern MD has to offer. I never wanted to get tied down to a house and have to worry about reselling it if I changed my mind. I don't consider renting a house to be an unstable living arrangement. The landlord owns a bunch of properties and is in no rush to move to the house I was renting. :ohwell:

It wasn't for them, just for their pet. I would say irresponsible

I definately agree. I'm glad I don't know this person. It's a friend of a friend... I'm doing it for the dog. Not the former owner of the dog although I hear she is distraught, but she should have considered that and discussed it with landlord BEFORE getting the dog. Animals are a responsibility, it's like family -- just because it doesn't fit your lifestyle, you don't just drop them and get rid of them.

The house I was renting for 6 years was a "farmette" and I have found a home for them -- a chicken is a lot different than finding a home and getting rid of family dog. My current roommate loves the animals and wants to keep them. She just doesn't like litterboxes in the house. :ohwell:
