At 957 AM edt...Doppler radar indicated an area of rain with embedded thunderstorms over St Marys airport...moving slowly to the northeast. This activity is producing locally heavy rainfall of around 2 inches per hour. The communities of Hollywood...Clarks Landing...sotterley...sollers...coster...will be affected through 1115 AM edt. This amount of rainfall could cause minor ponding or flooding problems. Motorists should use caution. In addition...the thunderstorms may move into the tidal Potomac and Chesapeake Bay...bringing a threat to mariners with locally higher waves, lightning strikes and heavy rain.

And there you have it..... We are going to get a mother load of rain today. We need it.
