You, Me and Dupree seems great. The trailers are laugh-out-loud hilarious, in my opinion, and it has an impressive cast (Owen Wilson, Kate Hudson, Matt Dillon, Michael Douglas). I'm always up for a good laugh and this seems to offer plenty of them, so I'll see it in theatres. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint the way Click and Nacho Libre did and doesn't end up being more of a drama with hints of comedy, a la The Break-Up. I just want a straight-up, no-holds-barred laugh riot and I'm hoping this, Luke Wilson and Uma Thurman's My Super Ex-Girlfriend, and Will Ferrell's Talladega Nights: The Ballad Of Ricky Bobby deliver the goods!

You, Me and Dupree is a fantastic comedy!

At last! After a string of disappointments, a great summer comedy arrives! I was reminded of The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Wedding Crashers as this is a laugh-out-loud hilarious film which also offers plenty of emotional drama and a set of three-dimensional characters we can laugh with and, at times, relate to. Stars Owen Wilson, Kate Hudson (Goldie Hawn's incredibly talented daughter), Matt Dillon, and, in a rare comic role, Michael Douglas all deliver hilarious performances, especially Wilson as Dupree, the ultimate adorable loser. Also, the direction's colorful and stylish and the screenplay's overflowing with gut-busting gags and sharp one-liners. A very satisfying, well-made film!

100% recommended if you want tons of intelligent, zany laughs.

I'm actually surprised by how poor this film's reviews are. I found it hugely entertaining. No, it's not going to win any awards and, no, it's not exactly Schindler's List-caliber, but it's colorful, fast-paced, and very, very funny. I was entertained throughout and left satisfied, so I'd say it was worth the price of admission.

And it's not exactly setting the box office on fire, though good word-of-mouth should carry it.. It opened third yesterday, behind Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and Little Man (I am scared people payed to see Little Man).

Update on Owen Wilson

According to Wikipedia-a fountain of info:
At 12:10 p.m. on August 26, 2007, Owen Wilson was rushed to St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California, by ambulance. Initial reports cited the reason as "dehydration". He was discovered with superficial wounds to his wrists and a near-empty bottle of medical pills in the bathroom of his Santa Monica home, by his older brother Andrew who called 911 at 11:59 a.m. Wilson was later transferred to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA.

"I respectfully ask that the media allow me to receive care and heal in private during this difficult time," Wilson says in statement.

You, Me and Dupree was a TERRIBLE movie. One of the worst I've seen all year, and I've seen some pretty crappy movies.

That the incredibly cute and talented Kate Hudson fell for Owen Wilson during filming just boggles the mind.
