Have you checked with any of the rescues? What type of dog are you looking for? There are many things to consider other than it just being under one year of age.

i already said im looking in sheltersReally the only qualifications I want are under 1 year old and to be a medium sized dog

You didn't specify "a medium sized dog" in your first post. Umm, there are also many other things to consider. 1. What do you want the dog for?
2. What energy level are you looking for in the dog?
3. Do you have kids? what ages?
4. Do you have other animals?
5. What do you consider to be a "medium" sized dog?
A little more info on what you want/need in a dog would be good.

LOL to me shelters and rescue groups are one in the same most of the time but not always anyways!!!!!!!!!!!
1) Companion animal for my husband and myself, the dog might go hunting with my hubby
2)Low-medium energy level
3) No but we will in the enxt few years, thats one reason we want a young dog so that we can train him/her from the ground up to ensure that it will be good around small children
4) We have a Shihtzu and hedgies
5) ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm sheltie, cockerspaniel, english setter sized dogs

Do you know dog breeds at all? There is a big size difference between a Sheltie and English Setter. All three breeds you listed are not low energy dogs. You want something that may go hunting with your hubby and be low energy?
Thats a range that i want in size. and i did say MAY go, not he/she will be used for hunting. And i didnt list the breeds as in i want them i listed them for size please pay attention to what answer goes to what question, you didnt ask what kind of breed energy wise you asked for what size i detailed as medium.

No they are. They are acting like im an idiot because i gave a size RANGE and named a dog that wasn't a low energy. I dont want that kind of dog based on energy i was just using those dogs as an example of the size range

No, they are asking the questions that should be asked for anyone looking for a pup... If you take this personally, and by the way rescue and shelter are not even in the same range, you should get over it!!
I want a young dog UNDER one year of age. In the size RANGE between a sheltie and an english setter I would like a MILD tempered dog that is not high energy. The dog will be a companion for my husband myself and my shihtzu. Those are the requirements I have. Is that amy effing better for you people?

) are not low energy dogs.. and who knows they may not want a doggie who will smell... :shrug:
