Youtube lags

All of a sudden, within the last 3 days, something has changed, because youtube has become almost unbearably lagged.

I type something in a reply, and it lags...and lags...and lags...and lags...until finally, the text pops up.

I click on a link of any kind ("reply," "see more," and so on), and it lags...and it lags...and it lags...until the link opens up.

If I scroll down to see more replies, same thing. It lags and lags and lags until the page populates. If I scroll back up to the video, it takes forever to load.

It's not happening with anything else with the internet, using FF; only youtube, which, by the way, I pay for premium.

Not premium but have gotten a few hangs causing me to close the tab and restart YT over the last week.

I think it's their AI censorship program running everything through it all at once. It seems to be worse during the day.

Are you using an Ad Blocker ?

If so Google, for the past 6 months or so, has been rolling out a feature to lag your video playback ...
I switched Mullvad Browser just for watching YouTube on my main account

Mullvad is based on Firefox and uBlock is built in ... for maximum paranoia - Mullvad has a VPN but that is NOT required

I am using AdBlocker Ultimate; however, I also pay for youtube premium. I hate that even with premium, adblocker is still blocking elements.

I see it's a TOR-based browser, which I've been considering trying anyway. D/l Mullvad r/n.

D/l the browser, but I'm trying the FF extension first to see how I like it.

The extension is available in private windows, so I enabled that, too. There's nothing like browsing to your favorite porn site (xhamster, for the curious) and having a google sign-in popup appear. Yeah, like I'm gonna give google access to my porn habits. They already know too much about me as it is. That's why I use a private window...so I'm not getting the kind of ads Gill gets on his computer. Presumably.

It can be ... I'm not on tor to use this
Similar architecture. Not exactly the same. I'm not using a VPN at the moment, but if google gets even more intrusive, I will.

Privacy quality of the Tor Browser. To use with a VPN.

Using a VPN is not enough to achieve perfect privacy online. There’s simply too much data being extracted through most browsers. The Mullvad Browser is a web browser with the privacy quality of the Tor Browser, to be used with a trustworthy VPN.

I've been seeing that for the past 6 months or so, EVERY News Site I visit that wants me to ' login ' even if not required to access the content Google Pops up ....

Plus those news sites (looking at you FNC) wants you to disable your adblocker.
Yeah, same. Even though I clear out my browser once or twice a week.

Remember the good old days when you had to clear out your cookies and your dot-tmp files just to have room on your hard drive?

Every time I clean my browser, it's always at least a gig of crap being cleared out (I use ccleaner, which used to be crap cleaner). That's another reason I use a private FF window for my gilligan sites.

Update: I D/l that browser that GURPS mentioned, but did not install yet. I did install the add-on for FF, and that seems to have resolved the issue, at least for now. So, thanks, brother.

Yep, you pay and pay and pay. Pizzes me off. Prime, but you have to pay to not see ads on stuff you "bought." And you didn't really buy it. It's basically a long-term lease, even though they coach everything in terms of buying - movies, music, books (Kindle). "Thank you for your purchase." Imagine my surprise when I found out the hundreds of books I "bought" from Kindle - paying monthly for Kindle, btw - don't really belong to me.
