One of the youtube contributors I follow is South Main Auto, its car repair and I especially follow it for electrical systems diags, he's a whiz at working out electrical problems. Typically puts out 1 to 2 vids a week and I always find them interesting. His latest vid was for a squishy brake system on a ford and he got in trouble with youtube for something ridiculous, see below for his commentary.

The original posting of this video got me flagged and demonetized by YouTube. They tell me I am a racist bigot and used offensive language to attack a specific ethnic group. According to YouTube I am out on a personal attack against the Hispanic and Latino community. At time stamp 3:40 to 3:46 I had said in the original video, "now we got the caliper cleaned up all spic and spany." Oh you read that right folks! I said spic and span. You know, the cleaner. Like Fabuloso, Comet, or Pine Sol, Spin-n-Span. I asked for a manual review by a human from YouTube and they denied me for the second time within 15min of my request, this time marking the time stamp that displayed the nasty attack on the Hispanic community. At that moment I still did not understand until it hit me about 20hrs later haha. I am a little slow let's be honest. It is the word "spic" apparently. Seeing the obvious over sight I contacted YouTube again assuming the person reviewing my video had never heard of "spic and span" and I explained my case. They quickly denied me, told me I was racist bigot and turned off monetization on the video. I was told I must adhere to there guidelines of free speech. They gave me a list of swear words and racist remarks I could say which is handy

. Apparently the word Spic-n-Span will be added to the list. I do not know what this world is coming to but I am glad for my sake I am in the last part of my journey though it because if it gets any stupider I do not think I can handle it.

While working at Micheal’s Craft Store in Short Pump, VA my daughter was approached by a ‘Karen’ who took offense the black glue said ‘negro’ on it and demanded to see the store manager. My daughter explained it was the Spanish word for black. She even showed her white glue that displayed the word ’blanco’. Karen wasn’t buying it and said not only was she going to call corporate, but the local news station as well.

If I were Eric O, I would get some Spin and Span and use it in his videos every chance he got, making sure the bottle is clearly visible. I think that would fall under the category of malicious compliance?

I watch videos on YouTube enough to warrant the ad-free version. I don't see it to be worth the money for the average viewer, but I'm anything but average. :cool:
