Anyone have any experience with it? Did it help you quit smoking? Did it make you mental?

The doctor gave me a prescription for it, I've only taken it for two days, but it still weirds me out that I'm taking a mind altering drug. I like my brain just the way it is (well when it's loaded with nicotine, no nicotine = psycho) :twitch:

I have heard it works really well with no major side effects. I worked 6 years as a pharm tech and you would be suprised at the amount of people on mind altering drugs

It worked for me the first time I took it. Can't remember why I started back up again.

Getting pregnant is what made me quit for good 4 years ago!

I take it Christy. It works pretty well I guess for smoking. I went through a REALLY bad time during the 4th day through the 7th. (when they up your dose to 2 a day) You can call me if it gets bad for you...and I'll help you through it. I guess that is when it alters your mind the most. :lmao:
After that...well it's been just great...ummm, one of the side effects is increased :gossip:. That kicked in with me after about 3 weeks. I'll never quit taking it now. :really:

I took it a few years ago. It made the cigarettes taste bad, and I quit...for a few days. Then my food started tasting bad, then everything I drank tasted bad. I had to stop taking it just so I could eat and drink again.

I've a new bottle sitting on my night table for about a month now. I just can't bring myself to start taking it again.

I used it 7 years ago and I was finally able to quit smoking. I had no side effects, but my brother-in-law insisted it gave him extremely vivid nightmares. :ohwell:

I took Zyban about 5 years ago to quit smoking. I honestly never noticed any *mind altering* difference in myself. (no smart-ass comments from the peanut gallery either)

I tried to quit smoking several times. But that was the last time. It worked.
IMHO ...all it does to you is make it easier NOT to smoke.

Follow the directions, exactly.

Good luck. It's not easy, but you CAN do it!!

:huggy:

But wait, there's more...
My doc gave me a couple months prescription to quit smoking, and considering it's also an anti-depressant, I thought it was ironic that I'd never been more depressed in my life then when I was taking that stuff. When I figured out why I was so bummed all the time, I quit taking it and quickly resumed my normal biatch self vs. the depressed biatch.

My mom took it a few years ago, and it helped her quit smoking, but as you see, she is now smoking again, so it didn't really "stick".

:yikes: Uh oh, if it kicks in anymore for me I'll need to switch from happy wife, DoD contractor to hooker/porn star. :shocking:

In my opinion doctors hand out that crap way too much. Zyban is basically the same as Wellbutrin. Any of that stuff "alters" your mind. I took Paxil for three years...worst sh!t on the market and it was pure HE!! to get off of the stuff. I won't go into details here, but pm me or call me and I'll tell you about it. If I were you, I would NOT take it.
