    Very Confused Weather

Confused weather isn't restricted to MD. Here in Maine three days ago it got up into the high 50's, yesterday I got an inch of snow and today it was back in the 50's. Tomorrow snow is predicted again. Up here there just hasn't been the long hard winter I've sort of gotten used to.

    Hey oldman!!!

Thanks. I don't feel a day older than I did yesterday. Not sure if that's a good thing or not though. Real Winter hasn't hit my part of Maine as yet but it's just around the corner. By that I mean snowflakes haven't appeared. I am still entertained by the forums daily.

States where you are most likely to hit a deer.

Here in Maine we have to watch out for moose. If you value your life you don't want to tempt fate.

    Old school Navy Boot Camp

San Diego, company 545 in 1962. We all did our own laundry, outside on cement tables, a scrub brush and some soap. Getting the sweat ring our of our white hats took some elbow grease. Service week I was in the mess hall but had the easy task of keeping the milk machines loaded. I stayed out...

    What's keeping you from retiring?

After 20 in the Navy and another 13 in Fed Gov I retired at the age of 51. Paid back for my Navy time and had it all added for a total of 33 years for Fed. I'm doing very well because of two things, I've been single for 15 years and I moved to Maine 5 years ago. Started collecting a little SS...

Another victim of inadequate safety labels

Calais, Maine is the closest town to me with stores. About a 25 minute drive to get to Wal-Mart or MacDonalds.

What was your very first job?

I worked summers beginning at 14 at a shrub nursery, hoeing, pulling weeds, cutting grass as my first taxable job. Only made 30 some dollars a week and Mom took half of that saying I needed to pay rent. It kept me in candy and sodas and I was good with that. Only after 3 years in the Navy did...

What I'm enjoying about being in my 50s

Well at 70 nothing bothers me. If someone screws me over they only do it once and they know it. Seeing Great Grandkids, 7, 5 and 1 growing up and their actions provides lots of laughs. My problem of sorts is all the memories of my life no longer being relevant to anyone less myself. In all...

Military EO training mentions "White Privilege"

We've got to many idiots in and running this country. I think that pretty much sums it up.

    Bald Husbands

DoWhat, I haven't paid for a haircut in many years. I bought a clipper and used a #2 for a number of years and for the past few went down to a #1. It's easy, convenient and think of all the money saved by doing it myself. That money could be used to buy beer.
