What happened with the deeded membership certificates? I remember buying one when we lived in Wildewood. Why are they worthless now?

You all might not be aware of this but English is considered an official language of India. There are so many different sub-groups in India, that when the country became independent, English was the only language that everybody could understand.

That I can understand. That was a terrible restaurant.

The other issue I've had with restaurants on Solomon's in particular is that, in recent years, parking has become a problem. I just got tired of the crowds. I still go to Ruddy Duck, but then they have a nice big parking lot.

Cafe des Artistes in Leonardtown does a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner with rotisserie turkey.

Lewnes Steakhouse in Annapolis: http://lewnessteakhouse.com/wordpress/ There is a link on the LHS for gift cards. Some other good places are Morton's Steakhouse, the Chart House, and Ruth's Chris, but those are all chains. Great restaurants, but Lewnes is truly unique.

Is it open this year? I tried to look them up no the web, and just got a message saying that the web site has been disabled. Then I checked FB, and it looks like their page hasn't been updated since Dec. 2013!

I thought hotdogs or frankfurters originally came from Germany? If we're only going to eat American food, I guess that leaves us with Thanksgiving dinner.

I'm not sure how you define "hard to find specialty". We were looking for anyone with a technical degree (engineering or science) or mathematics. I should also add that these were ENTRY LEVEL jobs. As for hiring people we already know, there are a few contractors we've been trying to hire...

Are they taking geography into account? Most govt. employees live in and around D.C., which has a high cost of living. I'm sure an accountant in D.C. makes a lot more than an accountant in Podunk, Mississippi. But even if it were true, why aren't these people flocking to the govt., if it's...

I work on base and my car is 14 years old. The guy next to me has a 12 year old car and another guy has a 17 year old car.

I had a cat that drooled a lot, and I thought it was so cute. Then the vet noticed that his two of his teeth were cracked. Poor kitty. He must have been in a lot of pain. Please take him in for a check-up NOW.

Sounds like they're being a lot more lenient about who they let into the retirement village these days. They used to be a lot more strict.
