Is Hastert a pedophile? My understanding is that his victims were high school. That's not a child and many times they are already sexually active. Everyone's acting like he raped a 5 year old, and that is not the case.

It would be nice if we'd stop with the hysterical rhetoric and call things what they are. What he did was bad enough, it doesn't need embellishment.

Regardless, it is disheartening to hear people like Tom DeLay and other Republicans calling for a more lenient sentence. I don't think 15 months in jail is that draconian, considering what Hastert did.

If I may ...Exactly. Just goes to show, left or right, liberal or conservative, democrat or republican, some humans are really nasty creatures that go against nature and way out of cultural and societal norms.

Yes, and politicians have a sense of power over the people they are supposed to represent. Power is a big part of why politicians act out. So many pols think they are above the law. An example, is The Clintons who don't even bat an eyelash as they scheme, lie, and commit criminal acts.

To be fair that list even went down to a dogcatcher in Gahootin Alaska. but the fact is these people are getting elected, are sitting ion Government, and we need to get rid of every incumbent on the planet.

You might also think that the person who posted the Republican list is going to vote for Hillary.

Pedo means a prepubescent child. The reason I care is that when we start calling teen sex "pedophilia" I think it takes away from real pedophilia involving young children. Just like now that everything is called "rape", it belittles real rape, which is forcible sexual intercourse with a person without their consent. I think we should call things what they are.

Only as an object to show that criminal activity is not limited to Republicans.

However some people have the ability to avoid thinking that their party could have dirty laundry.
Yet they want to to toss stones at others.

If all of the guilty politicians went to jail the Hill would be half empty.

Right, because picking that nit is more important than a child molester getting off with an extremely light sentence that isn't even related to his actual crime.

No Hillary? I agree. But the point was to say it is more than just Hillary.

However, your point seems to be that since 100% cannot be caught and convicted then none should be. This is consistent with the "weather can't deport them all" argument. It's kind of a silly argument to make.

Nope, never made that argument Mr Hijinx made it in post #14 he said the Hill would be half empty and I agreed but stated it would completely empty or "no Hill at all".All politicians lie.

Lying is one thing - 100% of the human population lies at least some. The discussion was about criminal activity, not lying. The Clintons are clearly guilty of a good bit of criminal activity; and so are many politicians on the left and right throughout government.

Again, if the issue is simply "we can't convict them all or the Hill would be empty", then we're making a huge mistake.
