40 Days for Life
40 Days for Life is a focused pro-life campaign with a vision to access God’s power through prayer, fasting, and peaceful vigil to end abortion in America.
The national 40 Days for life Campaign began in 2004. Since that time, 204 communities in 49 states and two Canadian provinces have participated in coordinated 40 Days for Life campaigns, creating a track record of extraordinary lifesaving results across North America.
40 Days for Life
Here are a few facts about the success of previous campaigns:
• 1,128 children have been saved from abortion – and those are just the ones we know about
• Hundreds of women – and men – have been spared from the pain and regret of abortion
• Young people have made better lifestyle choices
• Those with abortion experiences in their past have found healing
• Abortion facilities have experienced sharp setbacks, cutting back hours and closing down for days at a time
• Thirteen abortion workers have quit their jobs
• Three abortion facilities have closed and gone out of business following
40 Days for Life campaigns outside their doors
• Media outlets have given the pro-life position prominent coverage with over 430 news stories
• More than 4,000 church congregations have been activated and united for life
• People have turned back to God with a renewed sense of hope for the future
This 40 Days for life campaign begins on Ash Wednesday – Feb 25th

• Noah experienced transformation during 40 days of rain
• Moses was transformed by 40 days on Mount Sinai
• David was transformed by Goliath’s 40 day challenge
• Jesus transformed the world following His 40 days in the desert
• The disciples were transformed after spending 40 days with Jesus following His resurrection

So, what can we do?
1st- we can pray and fast– pray to end abortion and heal those who are hurt by abortion. Fast from whatever it is that separates you from God.
2nd- In MD, we can pray outside an abortion clinic for an end to abortion in America. To that end, the Berwyn Heights 40 Days for life campaign groups will be praying outside the Metropolitan Family Planning Clinic in Greenbelt, MD. Please consider volunteering one or more hours during the 40 Days campaign in support of their peaceful vigil.
