This is an old boat made out of concrete. It's sitting over at Washburn Marina on the island kinda tucked away in the woods with the back end just sticking out. Apparently the guy who started to build it passed away before it was finished.

I can't see your pictures due to imagevent being blocked.. is the concrete boat at the base of Dowell Road?? There is one there tuckied inthe woods on the border of the old base.. I haven't seen it up close but someone told me it was an experimental concrete landing craft dating back to WWII.. though there was a company at one time experimenting with concrete sailboats..

Yeah well the phone was all I had at the time so whatever works works. Sure I could photoshop it some way and get the dark out of it some. Still a neat picture for a phone pic. :howdy:

Yeah that is the area. Old base? Hummm, didn't know that. But that would explain the old concrete bunker looking things in the area too.

I wasnt taking anything away from it, I figured it was taken with a cell phone.

Yep, that was where the Solomons Naval Amphibious Training Base was just prior to WWII.

That one legged sea gull must really like to get his picture taken....:lmao:
Really nice pictures....I think the bridge must be the most photographed thing in Southern Maryland...That's not such a bad thing though...It looks neat at any angle...

lol.... it actually had two legs but for some reason it seemed to like standing on one. Maybe it thought it was a crane and not a seagull. It definitely liked the camera though, I was laying on the boardwalk in Solomons taking the shots; I was pretty close to it, as I only had my 17-55mm lens on the camera.

I agree on the bridge, but it seems to be interesting quite a bit of the time....that and since many people sit on it for long periods of time.....lol.

dur :dork: I knew that too :lmao:
:killingme you were just testing us....

Nice bridge shots...I especially liked the last three :yay:

Me too!!:howdy:(Although my pictures aren't quite as beautiful.)
