I'm gonna go out on a limb and suggest that when he is playing Tiger or other celebs, it's not working. When he's playing with business people and political figures, it's working. Again, I'm ALL for using the gold course for work. It DOES help. You get to know what kind of person the other person is, how they deal with a little competition, how they handle missing an easy putt or shanking a shot or dumping one in the water, etc.
