Actually since it's a presidential proclamation and not an act of Congress, Trump can rescind it the second his ass hits the seat and fire everyone in the next second.

Let the bodies hit the floor....

Meh I don't think this moves the needle ...

Federal Employees that were going to vote for Biden this is not changing any minds

I think any FE that was going to vote for Trump will not have their mind changed

I can say from experience and decades of observation - it's EXTREMELY hard to fire a federal worker, especially if they belong to the union.

Almost anything you can fire people for - in the federal government you have to document it - PROVE it - and make every possible effort to remedy it before you fire someone. Something as straightforward as blatant sexual harassment can take months or a year to get rid of someone.

AND - while you're "proving" it - you cannot target one person. For example, you have someone who appears to be ditching work, coming in late, leaving early. So you set up a time sheet to document their coming and going. BUT - rules say, that's unfair until you have proof, so you MUST INSIST that everyone follow the same checkin procedure. Alcoholism? CHRONIC drunkenness or drug addition, on the job? Must find programs to rehabilitate them FIRST. Insubordination? Similar measures. If they're just not doing their job or they're incompetent - you have to teach them.

If they become VIOLENT - then you can pretty much fire them on the spot. But for much of the government, you cannot be whimsically fired.

As opposed to private industry, where I've seen plenty of people fired, because the boss just didn't like them.

Once they become violent its too late and may take others with them. Then its the managers fault for not noticing what was going on and they don't have a union protecting them.

Erm....define "chronic"....
Among cannabis consumers, chronic can be used as slang for marijuana itself, but many users reserve the term for particularly potent strains of the plant (e.g., smoke some chronic or smoke the chronic)

1.High quality weed, usually strains produced for high THC and yeild. The term "chronic" also may be used for good weed when the specific strain is not known.

You cannot fire them, but you can RIF them.

Actually, it is not true that Trump could just rescind it. There is a process that would involve OPM in order to rescind it. It could also possibly be challenged in court. It is not as simple as just reversing the executive order.

You can RIF federal employees, but that involves congress and the budget. Trump or any other president cannot RIF people unless congress cuts the federal budgets. And it would take a cut in the federal budget in order to RIF people.

It is not easy to reduce the federal workforce. Most of the time the best you can do is hold it at what it is.

When I was working on the base, I saw a GS-14 get fired on the spot when NCIS came in and arrested him and took him out in handcuffs. He was caught in a sting aimed at those who view child pornography. Got a five year sentence. Not sure how long he served.

If I thought that orange buffoon could pull off scaling back the federal government, I’d vote for him in a second.

Reduce the federal payroll by 2/3 - but he has to delete the PROGRAMS not just the people.

If you’re listening, Donnie, Hemi stands ready.
