K&H Pet Products Outdoor Unheated Kitty House
This one has the back exit in case they get trapped. We've actually been thinking of this ourselves because we have 1 cat that just plain refuses to come inside. I hate that she is like this but there is not much we can do about it.
I believe we can get the K&H products. We carry their dog car seats. PM if you want me to get more info.
Would you mind finding out and posting that information? I know for a fact that many people are caring for outside cats now more than ever because the shelters have been so overbooked.
My husband has the skills to built one but not so much the time and it is getting cold fast. Her willingness to come inside all changed when I brought the newest addition in. I don't know why... we've tried everything but right now, she only comes in to eat and back to the door she goes whining & crying to go out. At least if she has a house to go to, I would feel better about it.
No, it doesn't seem unfeeling or uncaring. Feral Cats do appreciate a safe place from the weather. Even though they are feral, they do use them. When I first moved to my house 14 years ago, there were several Out Buildings that had about 30 feral Cats nesting in them. We provided the Hay, and some water & food. Eventually, we got all of them spayed/neutered, and found homes for them. We kept 4 that ended up being the best animals. Good hunters too.I know this is an unpopular and seemingly unfeeling question.
Doesn't "feral" mean they don't use houses?
And if they do, doesn't that mean they're not feral anymore?

and doesn't providing them shelter increase their chance of reproducing which increases the problem?
Not if they're Spayed/Neutered, which all Cats that are Catch & Released ARE spayed/neutered.and doesn't providing them shelter increase their chance of reproducing which increases the problem?
I have a call in to my distributor. Hope to have an answer soon.
If you get them, I'll buy one or two. I'm feeding a feral now behind my house.
