What about some not typical azealas (sp?)? I have this one in my front yard and it's very dense.
Better hope they grow quick.

Be careful with junipers. They can quickly get out of control and look ragged.
I think they're pretty. And maybe you could learn how to make your own gin.
Regardless of what I decide to plant, there will be drawbacks.
Very true. I just love when people ask for a maintenance free yard!
How pretty! I'll be looking into getting some of these for our yard. I love the purple plants we have, they add a nice contrast to all the green in our woods and gardens. What color is your house - would purple match well with it?
It would match, but I'm afraid I'd only get 6 of the 6-8'. I need 8'.

Evergreen Hedges - Fast Growing Evergreens for Privacy Hedges
My favorites are the nandinas. Fast growers, very disease resistant and attractive all 4 seasons without being too messy. Nandina domestica (Heavenly Bamboo) grows to 8 feet.
I didn't know they got that big. I like 'em!
There are a bunch of varieties but some like Heavenly Bambo grow very tall. Like I said, they're a 4 season plant and look great year round with very little maintenance.
Heavenly Bamboo
Another good one to look at is Cotoneaster:
Peking Cotoneaster
Again, fast growing and low-maintenance but a little shorter than Heavenly Bamboo.
The bamboo is pretty.
