The Southern Maryland Chapter of the American Red Cross is proud to present Pet First Aid Training on October 14, 2006 in the Lexington Park area. The Fee for the program is $45.00. Seats are limited.
Your pet depends on you for his or her well-being. In addition to providing daily care, love and affection, your best friend depends on you in an emergency. Whether your pet becomes ill or injured, or needs help in a disaster, the American Red Cross can help.

Our Pet First Aid book and Pet First Aid course teaches you emergency care procedures for cats and dogs and provides tips for keeping your pet happy and healthy too.

PET FIRST AID

We've all faced emergencies before, but are you prepared for an emergency in which the life of your dog or cat may be at stake? This helpful first aid course provides guidance for the more than 60 million U.S. households in which 110 million cats and dogs live. Tips for keeping your pet happy and healthy are also included.

COURSE FEE: $45

COURSE OBJECTIVES

The course will teach you how to:

* Protect both you and your pet from injury
* Perform rescue breathing and what to do when your pet is choking
* Stop bleeding, splint broken bones and treat for shock
* Prevent and handle poisoning
* Take care of your pet if bitten by a snake
* Handle sudden illnesses, including car sickness
* Treat your pet for exposure to extreme heat or cold
* Administer medications
* Stock a pet first aid kit
* and more!
