I want to learn to play acoustic guitar. I have a guitar but I'm having trouble finding a teacher. Do any of you know of someone who would be willing to teach a senior citizen.

There are outstanding books to learn, but without the help of a good mentor, you still can't develop your abilities and musicality properly and effectively. Good teachers present and dose new material, explaining its purpose and importance. The teacher corrects you if you make a mistake and encourages you when you get it right. My teacher always made it a point to ensure I had only good custom guitar picks because it has a lot to do with the sound that the instrument makes and the speed of your hand.
