Large Catfish In The Bay!!

A friend of mine caught 3 large catfish off of the beach last night. I didn't know they were in the Bay. Never seen catfish caught in the Bay before. They were so big he could barely fit them in his large cooler. I thought he was catching snakeheads and didn't know the difference. But, they were catfish.

Most likely channel cats. We used to catch them in the upper bay when I was younger. We would usually target them later in the summer though.

They are in the creeks & rivers too, patuxent & potomac. Been here forever, some years more prevelant. If you fish on the bottom you'll catchem. :whistle

Channel cats are even in the ocean. LOL :

Dogfish must not have chased them out this year. (lol).

My son caught mess last night; some near 24 inches.

With all the rain there are more catfish than normal closer to the bay this season!
