Large house burnt in Piney Point

A large waterfront home located near the Landings was a total loss last night.

Busy and long day for the 2nd District and others that responded. They used their fireboat for that one too.

The sirens from yesterday afternoon at the auto parts store went on for a better part of an hour as all the units came in from all directions. And then again at 2am, I thought for sure I was dreaming. Another hour + of sirens. I knew it couldn't be good. What a shame. It was so windy yesterday too, only adding to it I'm sure. 2D has to be running on fumes this morning.

I just saw someone post on another forum that it was the old manor house that burnt down. A beautiful old place.... ;-(

Thank God for the fire departments and first responders. Both fires are a shame.
