Lyme Literate Doctors In Southern Maryland

I am intimately, to say the least, very well versed with Lyme Disease and the associated infections and issues (had it for 4+ years). I was bitten a while back and waited a month or so to be tested, and have tested positive for the first time since 2005. Got the results yesterday.

I must act quickly, but I do not know if there are now many LLMD's in our area since I went to an outstanding specialist in Fairfax, VA (who no longer accepts any type of insurance).

If you have direct experience and can recommend a very good LLMD, please reply ASAP. I've got to address this immediately as I've "been there and done that" and don't want to go through it again.

Lyme is definitely not to be taken lightly and too many doctors, including some infectious disease specialists, still don't get it.

Dr. Krishnan is an infection specialist in Leonardtown at the Shanti medical Clininc. Give her a try if not I am sure she can recommend some to you. I have also heard the University of Baltimore has good infection specialist. Good luck.

Dr. Pomilla at Calvert Internal Medical Group. He's an infectious disease doc and has studied Lyme disease.
