We stayed at Myrtle Beach KOA just last week, very nice and clean......Pirateland is on the beach, very nice, only not a lot of trees for shade. Same with Ocean Lakes, these two campgrounds are next door to each other. Hope this helps!
Any suggestions on good campgrounds in Myrtle Beach?

Been to Pirateland and Ocean Lakes. Recommend both. Pirateland is smaller, Ocean Lakes is much bigger but much more modern in its facilities. Pirateland can have more shade if you setup further from the beach (closer to the pool). If near the beach end you'll need an RV with A/C, tents would be brutal. Ocean Lakes is either RV or rent one of their many cottages/houses.

We've stayed at Pirateland for the last 20 years or so and love it! The only problem we have with it is the lack of control over the teens and driving the golf carts around the park (even at night). We stay pretty much on the beach and have had no complaints about that part of it anyway. Would recommend it in a heartbeat.
