Is it better than Inner Harbor or Annapolis waterfront? I'm always looking for daytrips or weekend getaways, and I never think of DC for that for some reason.
It's fun to say you've done it before, but there's not a whole lot to do. If you wanted to really enjoy your time there, I suggest a breakfast segway tour that starts off at NH and ends in Alexandria. Way cool!!
Hubby and I spent the weekend in DC and we toured Smithsonian's Air & Space and Natural History museums. Sooo much fun, but waaaay crowded. I bought some astronaut ice cream. Last time I had that stuff I was in elementary school.
Annapolis or IH hands down over NH in every category.
And how do you get the Segway across the Wilson Bridge to get to Alexandria??
But did you do lunch at the National Air and Space Boston Market??
We go to DC we always do lunch there.

See, and I've been to the Smithsonians a zillion times, which is why I never think of DC for a weekend - been there, done that. Plus I like to be by the water.
I would like to see the Newseum, though.
Since it's only about an hour away, I thought maybe this week I'd take off and go explore during the day, while everyone else is at work and it won't be so crowded.
You can walk, bike, segway, across the WWB nowdays via a special lane.

The Spy Museum (DC) is a lot of fun too!
Would like to bike across the WWB bridge one day - where can I bike to once I get to the VA side? Would I be better off jumping on the metro with the bike and heading to the mall/monuments/memorials to bike instead?
Went there about 2 months ago - the kid really enjoyed it!
That seems to be the general consensus so far. Anyone want to make a case for NH, or should I cross it off the list?

K_Jo and I could meet you there for lunch!
My daughter and I drove up to DC and walked around the Eastern Market. Lots of cool stuff to see and buy, beautiful area and no trouble finding free parking.
