NAVAIR Leave Donation- Asking for an ill friend

Hi all! A friend of mine is a contracts specialist at NAVAIR and is currently about to undergo her third brain surgery in two years. Because of her medical issues, she's scraping the bottom of the barrel on her leave and needs quite a bit for this final surgery to remove the scarring left from her original tumor. If anyone who works for NAVAIR has any extra leave to donate, please consider donating some to Allison Kohut so she can get this last surgery out of the way! She's only 27 years old and would be so grateful to anyone willing to give even an hour of leave to her.

If you have any questions please feel free to PM me! Again, her name is Allison Kohut and she's a NAVAIR contracts specialist. She's signed up for the donation program, so apparently all you need is her name to donate.

THANK YOU!!

EDIT: Here's the link to the OPM Voluntary Leave Donation Fact Sheet, which also contains all the forms you would need to fill out. I believe it's just one no matter whether you are NAVAIR or outside.

I can't donate anything to her except prayers, but I would urge others as well to donate leave time, even if just a day if they have it.

I never carried over much leave from the agency I worked for - I used the AL, and rarely used SL. A good co-worker friend of mine was really in bad shape fighting for his life, and I donated 120 hours one year for him, leaving me 80 for the year. It didn't hurt at all, really, and I felt good about helping him out. We just cut out a ski week that year, and made do with the remainder of leave, along with the 10 scheduled holidays.

Man, I miss Calvin and Hobbes.

Thank you so much, and I'm sure your friend was so appreciative. I hope they are doing better, too.

Have you seen the Calvin and Hobbes documentary on Netflix? Good stuff. Called "Dear Mr. Watterson".

I'll have to look for that documentary, and no, he passed away about a year after from the same cancer. But it certainly helped he and his family financially for the five or six months worth of leave that was donated in his behalf. Too bad the govt would not allow us to donate sick leave as well.

I'm sorry to hear. I'm glad though that his family was able to get through such a tough time with the support of others; that certainly makes all the difference.

All,

Reviving this- Allison will officially be on the leave donor program as of Friday, January 9th. Her surgery is that day as well. If you are still able to donate it would be so appreciated! Her name is Allison Kohut at Patuxent River Naval Base. Thank you again, so much :)

I am not government so I can not donate leave, however I have been out of work since 30 Nov with my own medical issues. As a single mother with one income I know how bad it is to have medical issues and be out without pay as I'm living that horror now. I hope those with many hours of leave on the books will consider donating some to her, I know she would appreciate it. I pray this surgery is successful!
