Need horse farm volunteer position for 15yo kid

Hi SOMD horsie folks,

I'm looking for a volunteer position for a 15 year old boy. He's a good kid, loves animals, especially horses. He does not have any experience with them, but would love the opportunity. He also experiences some emotional and social issues as he recovers from the traumatic death of his mother. Does anyone know of a place suitable for him to volunteer? Could just be helping around a barn, nothing special. Southern Calvert county would be best. Thanks.

Ditto on greenwell. Perfect place for him. They are always looking for volunteers. It isn't southern calvert, but it's only an extra 10 minutes or so from there.

My horse is in St. Leonard.. I would be willing to meet with him on occasions and teach him more about horses (feeding, grooming, etc), and riding. :)

I could talk to the barn owner and see if he could help out with the entire barns feeding, too.
