The St. Michael's School Queen of Hearts Fundraiser was suspended last year because of 'rona. Now that things are almost normal, the Brass Rail, where the drawing was held every Friday, is closed. So the committee has decided to hold a one day event at the American Legion in Ridge to finish this fundraiser. The jackpot starts at $31,000 with only 14 cards remaining and will only grow throughout the day until someone finds the queen. Mark your calendars now - Saturday June 26th - 12pm!

Bump

Looks like it is going to be a nice day tomorrow for this event. Come on down to Ridge for some cold beer, some hot dogs, and a chance to win thousands!

How does that game work?
Buy as many tickets as you want for $1 each. A percentage of the ticket sales goes into the total jackpot. At a certain time ticket sales are cut off and one ticket is drawn. The holder of that ticket has the chance to pick a card (1 from a deck of 54) from the board to reveal. If it is the queen of hearts that person wins the jackpot. If not, all tickets are discarded and new tickets are sold for another chance to find the queen of hearts from the same deck. Jackpot continues to grow until the queen is found.

Hope that helps. The first time we did this about 2 years ago, we went thru more than 30 cards before some finally found the queen for a jackpot of over $100,000! As the OP states, tomorrow’s jackpot starts at $31,000 with only 14 cards remaining in the deck.
