Scanner change

With the recent change to the scanner broadcasting by the CCSD how does one now pick up the calls to the Sheriff's Dept? I have had my police scanner for years and always liked knowing what was going on in my neighborhood but now the scanner is silent.

Can an existing scanner be "upgraded" and if so what is the approx cost? TY

Buy a new one at any local Radio Shack... $100-$200 depending on what you want and they come pre-programmed when you buy local!

If only I'd had one in my car this afternoon, I wouldn't have been barreling around the curve on Bumpy Oak Road, right into the speed trap!

Thanks for the info and so sorry about the speed trap!!! Seems like an odd place for them to have one
Must not be too odd if they caught someone!!

They use that area in the bottom land near the railroad tracks where the road is fairly wide there are wide shoulders. Traffic is just coming down that fairly steep hill and around a gentle curve with a 35 mph speed limit.

The kicker is that I have seen them there in the past and knew it was a potential trap site!

Nobody to blame but me. :ohwell:
