I can personally say one Dr at Breton Medical is part of the problem with our HC system and contributed to what we have today; I was a patient of the Shah's for many years until I was given a referral to see a specialist and when I went the specialist asked me why I was there, told him Dr. Isuarez(sp) said I needed to see him, the specialist shook his head and said "you don't need to be here" and I questioned it as well as it scared me to be referred to an oncologist due to larger than "normal" lymph nodes when blood work always came back normal and no ill symptoms what so ever. My next apt with Isuarez was a month later and he asked me if I went to the oncologist and I said I did, he asked what he said, I told him exactly what he said, "I didn't need to be there and he doesn't know why you referred me" .... his answer is one that I will never forget and have never been back since, He said "you have insurance, WE might as well use it". Just a prime example of how some exploit the system to their benefit and I don't believe he did it for my well being as the oncologist was part of the Shah network as well. This was in '09.
I'm happy that you are OK, because if it was anything serious like cancer, you wouldn't be here right now. I think that Doctor made a stupid statement, however, with swollen lymph nodes, an Oncologist is where you should have been. Onco's don't just see Cancer Patients, they see people with blood disorders also. I had cancer, and all of my labs came back perfectly normal. IMO, your Doctor sent you to the right place. Although not all swollen Lymph Nodes, mean cancer. He was covering his ass, and yours.

You may be right but I think it was a way to charge my insurance company more. My thought was I'm 6'4 255 and if he didn't know the size of my nodes before this how could he say they are "larger than normal". I don't care for their practice, just my view. I went with MedStar St. Clements and have been very satisfied with them so far.

Nodes shouldn't be larger than normal because of a Patient's size. No, I don't work for the Shah's. It's important for you to be happy with your medical care, and I'm glad you found the right place for you!

He is now at the VA hospital in Charlotte Hall. Iswara.

Welcome to SOMD Forums.... Where it is so easy to place all the blame on the customer/patient/victim.

Then, turn around and complain about how services are terrible in their beloved area.... Hypocrites!!!

EXACTLY. It is only ok to complain here if you are a local... period. This woman came on here to express what happened at the doctor appointment and said "As soon as the doc entered the room, I was berated and SCREAMED at for "HARASSING" his staff asking how much longer??!?!? I explained that I had another appointment and I was trying to manage my time. He told me that all of the times that I had been seen (He WAS my primary care dr) that he was more than accommodating by seeing me (what did this have to do with anything). He then said, "I believe you should find a doctor who is smarter than I am." I said "I came here for you to review my MRI results and to get your opinion." His response, "I don't have time to review this.""

THIS was a horrible and unprofessional way for her to be treated. Perhaps she shouldn't have scheduled her appts so close but that is COMPLETELY missing the point of how she was treated by a medical PROFESSIONAL. I have had similar experiences here myself and have never been treated so poorly by doctors as I have been here. These doctors have little temper tantrums and say things like "you should find a doctor who is smarter than I am"... It's ridiculous that these doctors can speak this way to their patients and then actually CHARGE for their piss poor service.

I'm so tired of seeing all the harassment people get on here when there is any kind of complaint. It always seems to be that person's fault for some reason or other... Don't like it here, LEAVE... ho hum, it gets so boring. Now I'm bipolar?! Why? Because I think it was unfair for her to be berated and put at fault for being treated like a second class citizen? Every time I have something to say that isn't all sunshine and rainbows, I'm told to leave, OR I have to be reminded about just HOW WONDERFUL everyone was to me in answering my questions before I moved here... Yeah, I know... I thanked everyone a million times and it is never enough. I've been treated so rudely on here it is comical, really... I've been called mentally unstable, bipolar, a bitch... the list goes on and on. I'm just wondering why people have to be so damn rude. No one is allowed to have an opinion without the risk of total harassment and accusations of questionable mental health. It's just bizarre. No, I don't have to come here. Sometimes, I just check in to see what is going on; there are some interesting things from time to time. But in a general sense, I usually just leave this forum feeling like I've been completely attacked. SG_Player said it just right... the forums place the blame on the customer/patient/victim and yet are allowed to complain of those services themselves since THEY are allowed to have an opinion since they are locals... it is hypocritical and frankly nauseating.
I felt bad for the original poster of this thread, and I have been on the same end of being mistreated by doctors here. I felt like she was judged and it pissed me off. So I gave my opinion. Deal. And I'll leave if I want to.

Yet you called a whole group of people rude like you met everyone who lived here and you called the place many of us love a horrible place. This is the reason you have received a cold reception. It would be like me saying everyone from San Diego must be judgmental and rude based on what I have seen from you. I know that is not the case, I have friends that were born and raised around San Diego. You are absolutely allowed to criticize whatever you want but in that same light I am allowed to defend the people in my community and the place where I love to live. As far as harassment goes all I see from you, with the exception of one post, is a chance to complain and degrade a whole group of people based on a handful of posts. That sounds like being a troll to me.

I think she is home sick.

This is probably true and I guess I should sympathize more with her situation. If I had to guess she was less than thrilled to be moving here in the first place and now that she is here she is finding fault with every little thing.

I recently posted a thread dedicated to the things that we LIKE about Southern Maryland...it was a very positive post. Why doesn't anyone seem to ever read the good things I post? I don't find fault in every little thing... but I don't like when I see people attacked on here for complaining or voicing an opinion. I felt bad for her. I have posted many positive things... and I've been judged unfairly as being rude, a bitch and mentally unstable. How am I supposed to feel?

here's that positive thread, in case you don't believe me... "that's why I said I love you and you love me!! We have been making a positives list of So MD here at home so we don't focus on the negative... like.. Rita's ice-cream... ohhh yeahhh babe. And it is beautiful, the storms are wild and fun. The birds are so musical and lovely to listen to in the quiet mornings of my back porch. My tomatoes are coming in already! Five Guys burgers are da bomb. The farmer's market in Charlotte Hall is wonderful and lovely. The library in Leonardtown is awesome. The school is so much better than back in San Diego. SEE?! I'm not ALL complaints... but I am very homesick and this place just doesn't feel like home. That being said... I'm trying to make the most out of my stay here and I am only 5 hours from my family which I think is the best part of all. Thank you all for the wonderful advice you gave me before I came here... I did and do appreciate it."

I went back to find the thread and found that people thought I was being sarcastic... SMH. Can't win for losing...
