Are there any teen counsiling groups in the Mechanicsville area that deal with pressures, moral, values..? You know all the stuff that you preach to your children and hope that they will listen.

Immaculate Conception has a great teen club for ages 14 and above where they listen to bands and socialize.

No discussion groups yet but I think they're headed for that. The problem is only 2 types attend these meetings outside of their own social group - those that don't need the reinforcement and those that were drug there by their collar kicking and screaming and then make fun of everyone else.

St. Paul's in Leonardtown has a stellar youth program. Give them a call, and ask for Linda Schaffer 301-475-7200.

Also- just to let you know- they dont discriminate on religion period. Basically- it is a great place for the kids to hang out, socialize, do different things, and just be in a group of people and have fun. Secular or church based, both are welcomed.

Right now they are the old hall but they will be moving to the new hall behind the church.

Every Friday.

It's called the 7:30 club. When there's no band they get together and listen to CDs or watch movies or just socialize. Soda and snacks provided.

Call the rectory for more info.

Boy hasn't gone yet because he wants a friend to go with him and his buddies aren't into it. He has a soccer friend that goes all the time - she's a year older - and she's planning on kidnapping him and taking him.
