This isn't a surprise to you is it?
From the beginning Obama has wanted confiscation of all weapons. This should come as no surprise. Every dictator that ever dictated has wanted a ban on weapons from opposition.
There is a higher power in America than Obama and his Executive Orders. That is the Constitution and many Americans are willing to fight for it.
Well said!

http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/...-while-condemning-latest-mass-shootings-in-us (note the source is a preferred provider of news to the right wing crew here)Obama was not optimistic about such changes occurring in the US.
“I don’t foresee any legislative action being taken in this Congress,” he said. “And I don’t foresee any real action until the American public feels a sufficient sense of urgency and they say to themselves, ‘This is not normal, this is something that we can change and we’re going to change it’.”
http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs...stralia-banned-lots-of-guns-after-a-massacre/John Howard, who served as prime minister of Australia from 1996 to 2007, is no one's idea of a left-wing politician. He was one of George W. Bush's closest allies, backing the Iraq war, and took a hard line domestically against increased immigration and union organizing.
But one of Howard's other lasting legacies is Australia's gun control regime. The law banned semi-automatic and automatic rifles and shotguns. It also instituted a mandatory buy-back program for newly banned weapons.
In the summer of 2012, after a gunman killed people at a movie theater in Aurora, Colo., using several weapons including an assault rifle, Howard called on the U.S. to follow Australia's lead, writing in the Melbourne daily The Age:
Now, why would anyone check up on the story? It is easy to believe it because it justifies your bias, right?
So here is what the President said after the one line quote from Greg's "source". (Context is amazing thing. The statements below with the factual info on the Australian gun laws appears completely in line with the Presidents comments on guns and the remaining part of the actual quote shows he understands the political realities.):

Yes, the Constitution is worth fighting for...however, before you go into battle you should have some damned clue about what it is you are talking about. Knowledge is a powerful weapon...on the other hand: "fat drunk and stupid is no way to go thru life"
Tommyjo, thank you for providing the links to the facts.
Well, I guess that is a vote for Hillary! And, don't forget you get what you vote for. The fact that Hogan was elected in Maryland is a definite wake up call and so unexpected. I hope the rest of America is awakening from their slumber.
littlelady, thank you for responding to my comment. I didn't mention Hillary Clinton in my post.
You have no idea which candidate will earn my vote. That's a fact.
I base my decisions on factual information; not the opinions or assumptions of others.
Have a great day.
I did have a great day. Thank you. Sorry. I didn't mean to lump you in to what I think is happening to America. I have an opinion, also. If Hillary is elected, we are dunskies. I guess my assumption was wrong.

Nice to see the full factual story as opposed to the made up ones from the right wing rednecks on this board .
while he does want all guns confiscated, he doesn't see that happening "with this Congress".
Do you have a link to this statement/opinion by Obama?
